How to show a histogram at the middle of a bar plot?
I want to show a histogram at the middle of a bar plot generated by MATLAB.
There is an example of desired output in the picture below.
I’ve tried this code:

bar will always try to place the histogram in the centre by default. If you want to have it on one side only, I don’t think this is possible using bar, but you can use histogram with the following command:
h = bar(x,y,’histogram’);
This will place the histogram on the top of the plot, but you can overlay it to the side using the ‘Color’ and ‘ColorOrder’ arguments.
In the code below, I am using a combination of histogram and bar to create the histogram and a simple plot of a bar chart to show how to overlay it on the side of the bar chart.
