Elements can be a great little workhorse program for basic editing. Just select the layer where you want your adjustments to appear and then make your changes, as outlined in the following sections. You can always save your work before you exit Photoshop Elements, so you don’t have to reload the same file each time you edit.
Creating a Basic Image
The best way to start using Photoshop Elements is by creating a basic image using the Quick Start option from the image window. As shown in Figure 3-1, simply click the New image button, and then select the option for Quick Start. You can then follow the prompts to select a new document or press Enter to create a new document.
