The 7-year-old girl who Williams allegedly kidnapped in Kentucky, whose identity has not been released, was taken from a public library where she attended on-site child care and driven to the beach where Johnson’s remains were discovered, according to police.
She was returned to her mother and Williams was taken into custody by state police a week later.
In the weeks prior to Johnson’s death, Williams had assaulted the mother of his then-girlfriend, burying her face in a pillow in the middle of the night and slapping her repeatedly, authorities said at the time.
