Spacing things out
The Layers panel (refer to Figure 3-2) may be a first impression for many people who’ve never used a photo editing program, so let’s look at it first. The Layers panel holds all the information you need to edit the image, including the layers, and so on. To open it, simply click the Layers icon in the task bar or press Shift+F6. (Option+F6 opens the panel for just the layers of a single image. It opens the panel for all images in the current set of images, not just the one you’re working on.)
The tabular view represents the Layers panel in Figure 3-3, but it’s not always possible to see every layer within an image at one time. The panel scrolls, so as you scroll up or down, the images on the monitor change to show you only the layers that are available. You can also use the panel’s Zoom feature to view more details in the layer image.

Step 1. Opening the Stock Photo
If you’re like most people when using a graphics editor, you probably start working with the entire image, selecting layers and masking and so forth in order to start editing. For this image, we’ll begin working with the entire image.
Start by opening the stock photo in Photoshop Elements.
If the stock photo doesn’t open in Photoshop Elements, just go to File > Open.
Once the photo is open, open the image’s information panel by going to Window > Info
The stock photo needs to have a solid-color background so it can be cropped and saved, so change the background color to white, as shown in the previous image.
Now we’ll go to File > Save As.

Now, in the Name field, enter 1_edited_Photoshop elements.
Remember to save the image as a.png file.

Epithelioid malignant mesothelioma (EMM) is a rare variant of malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM), which has been thought to have a poorer prognosis. However, the biological significance of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) in EMM has not yet been evaluated. This study was undertaken to evaluate the prognostic significance of GFAP expression and to clarify the biological roles of microvesicles (MVs) in EMM. Immunohistochemical analyses for GFAP and MVs were performed in 41 patients with EMM. Microvesicles and the subcellular localization of GFAP were examined by electron microscopy. The overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) rates for EMM patients were calculated by Kaplan-Meier analysis. The primary sites of EMM tumors were the pleura (75%), the peritoneum (11%), the pericardium (8%), and the tunica vaginalis (4%). Tumor size, histological type, and Ki-67 index had no prognostic significance. Strong GFAP immunoreactivity was seen in 15 (37%) of 40 patients, in 33 (82%) of 40, and in 12 (46%) of 25 tumors with MVs. Of these 15 patients, 9 died of EMM, whereas of the 30 patients without GFAP immunoreactivity, 23 died of EMM. This difference in survival (P = 0.0002) was observed between the groups. In multivariate analysis, strong GFAP immunoreactivity was shown to be an independent prognostic factor for DFS. Positive intratumoral localization of MVs was seen in one patient with strong GFAP immunoreactivity. The density of MVs was higher in tumors with strong GFAP immunoreactivity. These data suggest that high expression of GFAP and MV-associated GFAP may be involved in the growth and dissemination of EMM. levels of adiposity are associated with elevated IOP in old-aged adults. The magnitude of IOP elevation is quite high and suggests the degree of cumulative impact of obesity at several stages of life. The sex difference in the relationship between adiposity and IOP observed in this study is probably related to the differences in sex hormones and to the higher levels of estrogens in women.
