Photoshop isn’t just for altering images. You can also use Photoshop for what it’s originally designed for: creating raster images. In Chapter 2, we talk about how to create images in Photoshop. In the following sections, we go over the key parts of Photoshop.
Changing an image’s filename
When you first open a new image or open an existing image in Photoshop, you’re greeted with a file navigation sidebar that includes an Open button and a Close button, as shown in Figure 2-1. Click the Open button to begin editing the new or existing image.

Starting with Photoshop CS5, you can change an image’s filename with the Save for Web and Devices tool. With this tool, you can format the image and choose a filename format. You can change the image to JPEG or TIFF, give it a more descriptive file name, and choose a filename format such as.png or.jpg. You can even give the image a more unique or memorable title.
If you save the image as an open file, you can then open the image in Photoshop and choose the proper format from the Format menu, as shown in Figure 2-2.
You also have the option to open the image as a new file after making the desired changes to the filename.

Creating new documents
Photoshop CS5 has a New Document command that opens a new image and creates a new layer. You can also use the New Document option from the File menu, as shown in Figure 2-3.
If you have an existing image open in Photoshop, you can also choose File⇒New from the menu.

PSE is super easy to use. The interface is simple, making it suitable for beginners who don’t want a big learning curve. In general, it’s a powerful program that comes with all the features of its counterpart Photoshop.
To begin editing, we will need to import an image file into Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020.
Open your Photoshop Elements and go to File > Open from the menu.
When the image file browser pops up, open the folder that contains your image. Select your image and then open it.
In this tutorial, we will be using an image that we took with a camera. We will split the image into several portions using the Smart Objects and then assemble them back to the main image.
There is no need to have any previous knowledge of editing in Photoshop Elements for this tutorial. However, do be aware that this process is very simple and basic.
Importing an Image
Before we begin, let’s figure out how to import an image into Photoshop Elements.
Go to File > Import from the menu. Select Browse in the Browse Image Files window that opens.
Select your image from your local computer and click Open. The image will be imported into Photoshop Elements.
For a slideshow type of presentation, we can use the duplicates feature or the Smart Objects.
Smart Objects
The Smart Objects feature allows us to create layers of images. These are also called Smart Objects. Once added to a layer, they can be edited as a unit rather than individually.

My body has not felt so well this week due to a number of factors. A change in weather (in the tropics) has me coughing more. It’s partly the dust when I inhale – that comes out my nose. The first one is a project I’m working on as well as things I’ve been making on my own and there is more in the way of stitching.
This is the Old Flag. It is a kite quilt with 8-9 patches. It is also a work in progress. I love all the colors. I can’t decide if I like it or not. I like the fact that it is simple. It could use a little more quilting and quilt borders.
This is my quilt from last year. When I made this quilt, I had no idea I would actually finish it. It is a bit bigger than my other quilt. I think I have lost a lot of weight in the last year and it makes me feel like I have more of a frame than I used to. I don’t like it, because it is a bit plain.
Here is a pic of my grocery list. It’s handy to have while I’m shopping. 🙂 (I am trying to cut back on what I spend at the store. I spend so much money on groceries and some of it is not needed. Instead of spending my time making my own meals, I’m buying my food. I’m trying to be smart about it.)

I am looking for a haskell implementation of the dynamic sort algorithm, i.e: algorithm comp(A,B) returns either false if A is greater than B or true if A is less than B.
