This is a component for Delphi that adds support for iCloud to Delphi.
iCloud and similar technologies allow users to sync their data between their devices and computers. It is usually free for the consumers, but it can be paid if you, for example, want to transfer your contacts from your iPhone to your iMac.
If you are using Delphi for iCloud, you should be aware that iCloud will sync data only between devices that are running iOS 7, iOS 8, and Mac OS X Yosemite (only). Unfortunately, you cannot use Delphi in such a situation. It would be a pity if your users do not have a compatible device anymore.
That is why I developed Delphi for iCloud. You can use it in all versions of Delphi starting from Delphi 3 up to and including Delphi XE6.
Brief introduction to the features:
1. Fully functional: All the buttons and Delphi interface are looking just like the ones in your iPhone/iPad/iTunes.
2. No internet connection is necessary: All data sync will be done in background without any connection to the internet.

Installation

What’s New In ZylTimer.NET?
I wrote this component to solve an issue I had with my application, that was running in a GUI thread (without Timer Dispatch).
In that application I have a timer that tick every 0.5 seconds, if the GUI thread was not busy doing anything, that timer would tick 1000 times per second.
The problem was that the.NET timer’s precision wasn’t accurate enough to handle this kind of frequency, which might cause the application to stop working.
To fix that, the application simply activated the timer from the main thread and stopped it from the main thread as soon as it started, in order to reduce the frequency of ticks a little, but this wasn’t accurate enough either.
The solution was to use the non-GUI thread to execute the timer.
The timer would be executed in the main thread.
The timer would execute in the.NET component and return at any time that the application didn’t have any GUI to render, or to touch, so the timer would not call the GUI thread, and it would be executed in the non-GUI thread.
This component provides a non-GUI timer, you can simply call it from the non-GUI thread, and it will execute in the non-GUI thread, and that thread will return at any time, that is at any time the application is not rendering or touching, and the timer stops automatically.
Because it is a simple windows timer, its.NET timer won’t do any cost for you, the timer object exists on the memory as a simple object, that’s all it needs, and it doesn’t make any use of a thread as long as the thread or the application isn’t calling it.
You can bind the component or use it like any other component, and it will work in any C#, VB.NET, Delphi.NET and Visual Studio project as long as you include in your project the ZylTimer.NET Component.
