Hyperimmunized recipients of transplanted kidneys had lower total immunoglobulin levels at 2 months after transplantation. This was true in patients who received transplantation alone or with ALS/WBLI. Favourable responses were observed in patients with low pre-transplantation immunoglobulin concentrations. Renal transplantation had no effect on serum immunoglobulin concentrations in immunized patients.
